JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - A judge dismissed a challenge by a group regarding the state’s abortion laws.

In April, the organization “Right By You” sued the state in an attempt to get two laws overturned. It claimed Missouri’s parental consent and notice requirement and the state’s ban on abortion support violated Amendment 3, which voters approved.

“The court’s decision upholds both the rule of law and the state’s compelling interest in safeguarding the welfare of minors,” said Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway.

The judge threw out the case because the organization “Right By You” admitted to being a “projet” of the company Innovations in Reproductive Health. That made the company an unregistered foreign nonprofit corporation, which is prohibited from suing the state.
