NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Voters in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District have chosen the candidates who will go head-to-head to fill Congressman Mark Green’s open seat.
Republican Matt Van Epps and Democrat Aftyn Behn will face off in the special election scheduled for Dec. 2.
The district stretches from Clarksville through part of Nashville and down to the Alabama state line.
Van Epps, a former state official and military veteran, secured the Republican nomination with the backing of former President Donald Trump.
His campaign has focused on service, security and conservative values.
His team told News 2 he would be available for an interview on Thursday.
