One of the most popular comic book lines of the past couple of years at Marvel has been the reintroduction of their Ultimate Comics line. Writer Jonathan Hickman conceived the line as a re-imagining of Marvel’s highly successful Ultimate Comics from the 2000s , with a new 2020s spin. Hickman spearheaded Ultimate Spider-Man , about a married-with-kids version of Peter Parker who becomes a superhero in his late ’30s. This led to Ultimate X-Men, The Ultimates, Ultimate Black Panther , and Ultimate Wolverine topping the sales charts. Despite this, Popverse has confirmed all Ultimate titles are ending in an event called Ultimate Endgame in early 2026.
