LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The impact of Tuesday’s record rain led to a sinkhole that washed out a road in Jeffersontown.
Jeffersontown’s public works director, Jimmy Franconia, said a portion of Plantside Drive collapsed due to unprecedented flooding in the area. The road fell on top of a pipe, which he said worsened the situation.
Franconia described the mess as an “emergency” and said they are working as quickly as possible to get it fixed. He mentioned city officials met with potential contractors early Wednesday morning.
“We’ve asked them to go back, do a design build, what they feel would be a 100 percent complete, forever fix for this, and in a timely manner,” he explained. “And I did ask the contractors, you have to be able to respond, if we pick you, you have to be able to start
