CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Detectives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are still trying to identify the person(s) responsible for shooting and killing a 17-year-old girl in Charlotte.
According to police, Navaeh Carter was in a vehicle when she was hit by gunfire and killed. The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 31 near the intersection of N. Graham Street and W. Craighead Road. No one has been charged for the deadly shooting.
Jamie Cureton, Carter’s mother, spoke to WBTV in an interview about the unsolved homicide. She said her daughter had a beautiful spirit and a beautiful soul.
“She liked to crack jokes. She had an extreme sense of humor. She loves her family,” said Cureton.
