BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Two people have been arrested in connection to a Birmingham attempted murder investigation.

According to police, 19-year-old Markel Berry and 21-year-old Marlik Berry, both of Birmingham, were arrested for attempted murder, discharging a firearm into unoccupied vehicle, and discharging firearm into occupied dwelling in connection to a shooting that happened Thursday, Sept. 11 in the 2200 block of Bessemer Road.

Authorities say Markel was taken into custody in the 900 block of Powder Plant Road in Bessemer while Marlik was taken into custody in the 5700 block of Kings Drive in Birmingham.

Police say both men are in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
