DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Durham is celebrating a major makeover for Sherwood Park that includes several brand-new facilities.
From swings to slides, a 25-year-old playground and former tennis court were demolished. That made way for fresh, state-of-the-art amenities chosen by residents.
Oskar Woloch lives just down the street, taking it all in with his two young daughters on Wednesday.
"Honestly having a brand-new park like this means a lot," Woloch said. "I work at nights. I have all day to be with them, so I'm like, I need to kill some time. So having this park five minutes away from me is truly amazing."
