FARGO — A roomful of teenagers took in a day’s worth of education and activities in Fargo aimed at snuffing out a nationwide vaping epidemic.
The hope is the knowledge they take away will spread exponentially through their schools and their communities, organizers said.
Fargo Cass Public Health hosted the 7th annual Break Free Youth Action Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in partnership with Tobacco Free North Dakota. A similar event was held Tuesday in Bismarck.
A 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey of North Dakota high school students shows the incidence of vaping in that population was 18%, decreasing from a high of more than 30% a few years prior.
