FOXBOROUGH – After a hard-fought game in Buffalo, the Patriots defense is hurting.

On Wednesday, the team was missing two starters from Sunday’s win with safety Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring) and defensive end Keion White (elbow) absent from practice. The defensive unit had five more players limited in practice and a sixth also on the injury report.

Hawkins suffered a hamstring injury during the Patriots win over Carolina. He was limited last week, but still managed to play in the Patriots dramatic win in Buffalo. The starting free safety finished with three tackles, a fumble recovery, and a half sack.

Last weekend marked the first start for White this season. He replaced veteran K’Lavon Chaisson (out with a knee injury) in the lineup at defensive end. White didn’t finish the game, h
