DENVER (KDVR) — An Aurora police sergeant was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Child Exploitation Task Force, the police department shared Wednesday.

Aurora Police Department Sergeant Aaron Bunch was taken into custody on federal charges related to the online sexual exploitation of a child. The department said the charges involve the electronic exchange of child exploitation material via the internet.

Bunch was hired by the Aurora Police Department in 2005. He was working as a school resource officer supervisor as of Wednesday, and was placed on unpaid administrative leave immediately after the agency learned of his arrest, according to the police department press release.
