BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- Multiple crews have been battling a fire in Bennington for several hours. It's taking place at a three-story residential building on Main Street.
The fire broke out just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 708 Main St. Police said a 65-year-old woman was injured while fleeing the fire. She was treated at the scene and taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Bennington Fire, Bennington Rural Fire, and Hoosick Falls Fire responded to the scene. It took around two hours for the fire to be brought under control; however, crews continue to battle the blaze. Vermont Route 9 will remain closed for several hours.
