SALT LAKE CITY — The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 are shut down after an airplane made an emergency landing in Morgan County Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Mike Alexander with the Utah Highway Patrol said the plane is a single-engine, privately-owned aircraft. It is believed to have flown from Mountain Green before landing near mile marker 100.

At this time, the westbound lanes of I-84 are shut down as authorities respond to the incident. Traffic is being diverted to Old Highway Road.
