AUSTIN, Texas — The Travis County Sheriff's Office now has a more modern facility to help detectives solve crimes faster.

The sheriff's office's Forensic Services Unit just moved into a new building, where investigators will use the latest technology to investigate evidence from crime scenes.

The new facility is located on the Travis County Correctional Complex campus, moving from its previous location at East Command on Burleson Manor Road.

The new location will feature new technical gadgets that the previous location lacked. The sheriff's office said it will enable investigators to conduct presumptive tests and visual analysis, including latent prints, the use of alternate light sources, digital forensic imaging, chemical processing and Blue Star tests that detect the presence of huma
