NASHVILLE, Tenn. ( KTRE /Gray News) – Country singer Cody Johnson is canceling the rest of his concerts this year so he can recover from surgery to repair a burst eardrum.
In a statement made Tuesday, the country singer said he had been battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, and the severity of the eardrum rupture meant he needed immediate surgery.
“The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time,” he said. “Without the surgery, my downtime could be months. I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love.”

Johnson is nominated in several categories at the upcoming CMA Awards on Nov. 19, including
