BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Cal State Bakersfield's embattled athletic department took another hit with the filing of a lawsuit by two former student athletes alleging sexual harassment and a hostile environment during their time in the school’s softball team.

The lawsuit alleges Leticia Olivarez, the head coach, and James Davenport, the assistant coach, consistently harassed the female student athletes on their softball team during the 2023-2024 school year.

This included creating a “sexually charged environment” by openly discussing sexual activities between the two, Davenport allegedly bragging about being a felon, using racial slurs to refer to students of color and behaving inappropriately toward female students and more.

The suit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, say
