BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The value of Kern County crops fell by 8% in 2024, according to the most recent report.
This report puts Kern County just behind Tulare County.
Kern County's $7.96 billion 2024 estimate places Tulare County 5% ahead...whose total crop value in 2023 came in $760 million below Kern County.
Fresno County, a member of Kern County's competition, hasn't yet released a 2024 crop report.
Kern County Farm Bureau President, Todd Snider, says it simply comes down to acreage.
