New Jersey’s gubernatorial hopefuls — former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli on the Republican side and Rep. Mikie Sherrill for the Democrats — squared off Oct. 8 on a debate stage in New Brunswick.
Hosted by the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, Sherrill and Ciattarelli took questions from Tamala Edwards of WPVI Philadelphia and Bill Ritter of ABC New York, as well as virtually from Noticias 41 anchor Ana Patricia Candiani.
A recent poll from Emerson College put the race at a dead heat , but others have given the fourth-term congresswoman from Montclair an edge over the Somerville businessman, including an eight-point margin from the Quinnipiac poll, an eight-point margin by Fairleigh Dickinson University and a nine-point margin from Rutger
