PITTSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- The family of a Cary girl killed in a tragic boating crash on Harris Lake has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit.
The incident that left 10-year-old Brooklyn Carroll dead also severely injured a Wake County school social worker, Jennifer Stehle.
Investigators say Quentin Kight was driving drunk when he ran over swimmers in the water on Aug. 2.
His girlfriend, AnneMarie Flanigan , who owns the boat, was accused of allowing Kight to operate it while intoxicated.
New court documents reveal that Kight had a blood alcohol level of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit.
