SOMERSET, Ky. (WKYT) - An 82-year-old Somerset man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police reports that the crash happened at the intersection of KY 80 and KY 1003 in the Shopville community of Pulaski County at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office pronounced Walter F. Maguire dead at the scene.

According to KSP’s preliminary investigation, Maguire was driving a pickup truck and attempted to pull onto KY 80 from KY 1003, entering the path of oncoming traffic.

A Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound on KY 80 struck Maguire’s truck while in the westbound lane. The impact pushed Maguire’s vehicle backward and off the westbound shoulder. The Silverado continued eastbound and collided with a Chevrolet Trax.
