LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The sheriff of Kentucky’s smallest county found himself on the opposite side of the law on Tuesday after being arrested for drunk driving while traveling 110 miles per hour.

Robertson County Sheriff Terry Gray was arrested by Mason County Sheriff Ryan Swolsky, who said Gray was driving 110 mph while intoxicated. The arrest citation shows Gray blew a 0.226 blood alcohol content, almost three times the legal limit of 0.08.

Police discovered a bottle of Fireball whiskey in Gray’s truck. This marks Gray’s third DUI arrest, following previous incidents in December 2023 and September 2024. He made an Alford plea last year.

The arrest has drawn criticism from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), a national nonprofit organization that works to end drunk driving.
