A significant development in the two-year Gaza conflict appears to be unfolding, with Israel and Hamas reaching agreement on the "first phase" of the US peace proposal, involving the exchange of hostages and prisoners from both sides.

President Trump revealed the breakthrough on Wednesday evening, declaring: "This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace."

Addressing worries amongst Hamas officials that Israel might resume its military campaign after hostage releases, alongside Israeli fears that Hamas won't surrender its arms, Trump emphasised: "All Parties will be treated fairly!".
