Republican Assembly Members Call for Moratorium on New York’s All-Electric Mandates
Republican state assembly members are raising concerns about New York’s upcoming “all-electric” mandates for vehicles and newly built homes, warning the policies could increase electric rates, raise housing costs, and threaten energy reliability. The mandates are set to take effect in January.
Assemblyman Patrick Chludzinski, a Republican who represents New York's 143rd District, shared his concerns over energy supply.
"The reliability question is especially important one for Western New Yorkers and those in colder communities. New York's electric grid has been devoid of any meaningful investments, improvements, or upgrades in nearly 70 years," he said.
