A Labor Minister's latest climate change claim - that no Australian community will be "immune" from the impending natural disasters - hinges on “implausible” scenarios contained in the government's latest risk assessment.

The National Climate Risk Assessment , released in mid-September, painted a dystopian picture of Australia's future, warning the nation would suffer a loss in property value of $611 billion by 2050 and $770 billion by 2100 if global temperatures were to rise by 3C from current levels.

During Question Time on Wednesday, Regional Development Minister Kristy McBain referenced the report's warning that there would be not a single Australian community “immune” from climate risks.
