NEW BALTIMORE – Veteran Anchor Bay soccer coach Nate Williams and his team got a chance to watch an upset Wednesday night.

So when the Tars took the field for their Division 1 pre-district match with visiting Port Huron Northern, Williams made sure his team didn’t suffer the same fate.

Anchor Bay advanced with an impressive 5-0 shutout of Port Huron Northern. That came two hours after Clinton Township Chippewa Valley upset St. Clair Shores Lakeview 5-4 in a wild affair that was decided on penalty kicks (5-4) for the final goal.
