A freeze warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 1:25 a.m. valid from 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Oswego County.

The weather service states, "Sub-freezing temperatures in the 25 to 30 degree range expected."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left unprotected," explains the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing."
