A day after the attack, on October 7, accused lawyer Rakesh Kishore had said that I have no regrets for what I did.

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday immediately terminated the membership of advocate Rakesh Kishore (71), who attempted to attack Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai. The SCBA stated that the advocate's behaviour is a serious violation of professional ethics, decorum, and the dignity of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the All India Advocate Association in Bengaluru has filed an FIR against Rakesh Kishore. Bengaluru Police has registered an FIR under sections 132 and 133 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). CJI Gavai has refused to file a complaint against the advocate.
