It's another October weekend packed full of things to do here in the Sarasota area, including the opening of the biggest local attraction in years.

Mote's new aquarium , overlooking Nathan Benderson Park and next to University Town Center, will open to the public this week. For more waterfront fun, Englewood Beach Waterfest will return to south Sarasota County with boat races and other festivities.
