Pauline Hanson has once again called for a nationwide ban on Islamic burqas and face coverings, linking it to national security and women’s rights.
In a statement shared online, Senator Hanson wrote that One Nation “will reintroduce a Bill to ban the burqa and face-coverings”.
"A ban on burqas ... is all the more urgent as the Albanese government continues to repatriate extremists who joined Islamic State and offer refuge to Gazans who support the terrorist group Hamas," Senator Hanson wrote.
“Australians must feel safe in their own country, not threatened by those who harbour extremist views.”
She concluded her post urging followers to “sing out if you agree,” which quickly drew more than 15,000 likes and 2,000 comments within an hour.
