A prominent member of Benjamin Netanyahu's government has expressed both hope and fear over Trump’s new peace plan as families prepare for the release of hostages.
The first phase of the plan involves the release of Hamas prisoners in return for Israeli hostages.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel told Sky News on Wednesday that the swap is a terrible price to pay for peace.
“It’s important to know that this is a very difficult day for Israel because we will need to release hundreds of terrorists with blood on their hands,” she said.
She added that victims’ families are facing heartbreak as they prepare to see those responsible for October 7 attacks walk free.
