GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- Greenwood School District 50 has implemented a new Athletic Code of Conduct for the 2025–2026 school year, aimed at raising expectations and ensuring fairness for student-athletes.

The updated policy clarifies that participation in athletics is a privilege, not a right, and sets year-round standards for student-athlete behavior both on and off the field.

Superintendent Goodwin emphasized the importance of student-athletes as role models, stating, "When they step onto the court, the field, or into the community, they represent not just themselves but their schools, their teammates, and District 50."

The new code of conduct was developed to provide consistency and fairness in enforcement across all schools and athletic programs within the district.
