A Freeze Warning has been issued for parts of the Lehigh Valley and Poconos , with temperatures expected to drop into the upper 20s to low 30s overnight Thursday into Friday, posing a significant risk to sensitive vegetation and outdoor plants.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning from 11 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday for an area that includes Carbon, Monroe, Northampton, Sussex, and Warren counties in eastern Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey.

Residents should take precautions to protect tender plants, cover sensitive vegetation, and bring potted plants indoors. Areas in the higher elevations of the Poconos may experience the most severe overnight cooling.
