Videos shared online showed residents in Israel and Palestine celebrating after President Donald Trump announced the historic peace deal reached between the two countries, the New York Post reports.

Footage captured from both countries showed residents in Gaza celebrating in the streets while residents in Tel Aviv chanted "Nobel Prize to Trump" after news of the agreement was shared Wednesday (October 8) night. The Nobel Peace Prize's recipient is scheduled to be announced on Friday (October 10) and the president has made his intention of receiving the award clear publicly.

Trump announced that Israel and Hamas both agreed to the "first phase" of a peace plan that would end the war in Gaza, which was later confirmed by both parties on Wednesday.
