One of the UK's biggest high street charity chains has announced it will be closing almost 200 stores within the next two years - including an Aberdeen location.

Cancer Research, which currently operates around 600 stores, is expected to undergo a major restructuring plan following a "comprehensive" review of its retail operations.

As part of the major restructuring plans to reduce its portfolio, the first wave of closures will see the firm shutter 88 shops by May 2026, with the locations including nine Scottish sites, including its Aberdeen store on Rosemount Viaduct .

The firm will follow this up by closing down a further 100 of its stores by the following year in May 2027, although, as of yet, these locations have not been revealed.
