HOWARD, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Brown County are investigating a crash that left a 21-year-old man dead and another with life-threatening injuries on Wednesday night.

Deputies with the Brown County Sheriff's Office say they were called to the CTH C/Shawano Avenue and Evergreen Avenue in Howard around 9:55 p.m. on October 8 for a single-vehicle crash report.

It was initially reported that two people were pinned inside the vehicle after their truck had crashed into a utility pole and a tree after failing to navigate a curve on Shawano Avenue.

First responders immediately worked to extricate the driver and passenger, who were severely injured in the crash.

However, the passenger, later identified as a 21-year-old man from Suamico, was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
