NORTH CANTON, Ohio (WJW) -- A suspect is in custody, and a woman was rescued under "heavy gunfire" after what was described as an active shooter situation in North Canton Thursday morning.
Police have identified the suspect as 38-year-old Brain Francisco II and announced his charges Thursday afternoon: multiple counts of felonious assault, improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation and inducing panic.
Friday, a judge set his bond at $1.1 million.
Police said the woman was injured by gunfire through the wall of her apartment at Versailles Gardens, and the shooter was in another apartment unit. He was reportedly firing blinding, police said.
