Britney Gard has been found alive in a wooded area a week after she was reported missing following a fire at her home in Bainbridge, Indiana

Gard was last seen on Sept. 30 and fire department officials responded to a fire at her home on Oct. 1 but could not locate her

"She is being cleared by medical staff," the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday, Oct. 8

An Indiana mother has been found alive a week after she was reported missing following a fire at her house , police have said.

On Wednesday, Oct. 8, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a Facebook post that Britney Gard, 46, had been "located in a wooded area 2.5 miles" from her Bainbridge, Ind., house, after she was last seen on the evening of Sept. 30.
