Fans headed to Penn State University this weekend have one advantage - the game doesn’t start until 3:30 p.m.

However, with homecoming events already underway, heavier traffic has already started on the routes leading to Beaver Stadium. But, some fans will have more time to recover with a holiday on Monday, Oct. 13, which is Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day.

Drivers can plan on being joined by more than 100,000 other fans.

Last year’s homecoming football game set the record for the highest attendance in the history of Beaver Stadium, which was 111,030. However, Penn State lost to Ohio State.

This year, Penn State will play Northwestern on Saturday, Oct. 11. It also will be the “stripe out” game with fans wearing blue or white depending on the section where they are seated to creat
