A cocktail bar which closed earlier this year could reopen as a kebab restaurant and takeaway, new plans have revealed. The Tap and Tonic on the shut its doors in March without warning.

Plans have now been submitted to convert the premises into a German Doner Kebab branch, with food served both in-house and to go.

The bar’s last message posted on Facebook in March was: “Just a quick heads up – the bar will be closed this evening. Nothing to worry about, just a little unexpected pause. We will be back with the great drinks and good vibes very soon.

“Thanks for your patience and understanding, and we can’t wait to welcome you back.” However, according to social media comments, the bar never reopened, and is now listed as ‘Permanently closed’ online.
