YORK, S.C. (WBTV) - An inmate died on Wednesday after being found unresponsive at the York County jail, according to deputies .
The inmate reportedly died shortly after 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the York County Detention Center.
As of this writing, the man who died hasn’t been identified.
What we know
Officers said they found a 45-year-old man unresponsive in his cell and immediately began life-saving measures.
Authorities were not able to save him, and he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes after he was located.
It was not immediately clear what may have caused the inmate’s death.
