SOMERSET, Ky. (FOX 56) — Claims allegedly made by the suspect in a deadly Wednesday shooting suggest he resorted to violence in retaliation for years of being threatened by his Somerset neighbors.

Deputies wrote on social media that around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, Pulaski County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) deputies responded to the shooting in the 200 block of Dogwood Lane.

According to arrest records, a 911 caller said her husband, 39-year-old Adam Roark, had been shot by James Edward Gleason, who lived across the street.

Deputies wrote that Gleason, 40, was detained near a driveway, near where Adam was shot. While questioning the suspect, he reportedly told investigators that Adam and his wife had been threatening him before he "decided to take matters into his own hands."
