MINNEAPOLIS — The upcoming race for Hennepin County Attorney is growing more crowded with the announcement that former acting U.S. Attorney Anders Folk is seeking the office.

Folk's campaign describes him as a lifelong Minnesotan, U.S. Marine, federal prosecutor and senior official in the U.S. Department of Justice under President Joe Biden.

In a news release announcing his candidacy, Folk says current County Attorney Mary Moriarty has "lost sight" of the priorities of the office, hurting public safety and damaging relationships with both the law enforcement community and Hennepin County residents.
