VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the American Red Cross and the University of Evansville to offer CPR and AED training at the county jail.
This event marked the first time the University of Evansville participated in the jail's training sessions. It is the fourth collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office and the Red Cross.
“Some incarcerated individuals are more vulnerable to medical emergencies due to factors such as substance abuse,” said Sheriff Noah Robinson. “Providing this training not only equips them with valuable lifesaving skills but also helps build confidence and a sense of responsibility that can extend beyond incarceration.”
