LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - An inmate who left his job site in Lake Charles Monday night has turned himself in.

Darius Cortez Simmons turned himself in at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office headquarters Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Simmons, who was a Louisiana Workforce inmate at the C. Paul Phelps Correctional Center, had walked off his job site at Golden Corral, according to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office. He has been convicted of armed robbery and weapons charges.
