A Lenoir man was arrested after a malnourished horse was found tied to a tree in Caldwell County.
Holden Lane Miller, 24, is charged with three counts of felony animal cruelty, according to Caldwell County Detention Center files.
Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement received a tip that a horse was tied to a tree behind Miller’s house on Morganton Boulevard Southwest. Officers found a black horse tied to a tree about 70 yards behind the home in a wooded area, Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement said in a news release.
The horse did not have food or water. The horse was severely malnourished and needed medical attention, the release said.
