A Lawrence, Kansas, middle school was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after reports of a social media post referencing a weapon.
The Lawrence Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Highway Patrol all responded to Billy Mills Middle School due to the social media post. Advertisement
The school went into lockdown, and law enforcement began searching.
Nothing concerning was discovered on an initial search, police said. The school remains on lockdown as officers search the campus more thoroughly.
