Reviving the Skins Game but holding it in Florida is a little like conducting the Indianapolis 500 in Boise, Idaho. It might work, but it is not the same. The Skins Game was golf’s Thanksgiving tradition in the Coachella Valley from 1986 to 2008, and a revived Skins Game ought to be in the desert again, with perfect weather and perfect backdrops.

Instead, the new Skins Game will be played in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Nov. 28. But the site of the event is hardly the only thing that will change.
