ROBERTSON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — In the wake of Gov. Andy Beshear calling on the Robertson County sheriff to step down, Terry Gray tendered his resignation on Thursday.
Sheriff Gray was arrested in December 2023, August 2024, and Oct. 6 of this year on charges of drunk driving, entering the Alford plea in the first two cases. On Tuesday, he was accused of nearly hitting a Mason County Sheriff's Office vehicle that was responding to reports of him allegedly driving over 110 miles per hour.
Mason County deputies wrote that Gray’s truck nearly overturned in an embankment before it came to a stop in a field near a private driveway.
On Wednesday, Beshear wrote in a letter to Gray that if he didn't comply, he would be removed from office for neglecting his duty to Robertson County.
