ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A man died while in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, two weeks after he was arrested.

Brayan Rayo-Garzon, 27, died in the Phelps County Jail in Rolla, Missouri, on April 8.

Rayo-Garzon was born in Colombia and was living in St. Louis.

According to the initial report from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a judge had ordered Rayo-Garzon to be removed from the U.S. on June 12, 2024. Officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Rayo-Garzon for credit card fraud on March 25, 2025, and ICE then arrested him for deportation.
