ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis police have launched a homicide investigation into the deaths of two women in July.

On July 14, a home in the 3500 block of Kingsland Court caught fire. Two women, 66-year-old Elizabeth Pfaff and 81-year-old Sherry Larose, were found dead inside the home.

On Thursday, St. Louis police said that the medical examiner has determined both women died as a result of the homicide.

Police said they have a person of interest in the case, but no one is currently in custody. They also said there is no threat to public safety.
