A 29-year-old former Pacific Palisades resident suspected of sparking the Palisades Fire that killed 12 people and destroyed much of the exclusive community was ordered Thursday to remain in custody in Florida, with a federal agent telling a judge the man threatened to burn down his sister’s home last month.

Jonathan Rinderknecht was arrested Tuesday in Florida and made his initial appearance in an Orlando federal courtroom Wednesday.

He appeared in court again Thursday morning, and a judge ordered that he remain in custody pending another hearing on Oct. 17.

According to media reports out of Florida, special agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told the judge Thursday that police were called twice in September to the home where Rinderknecht was stayin
